February 16, 2004--A five month course developed to help industry and public organizations establish effective environmental programs will begin March 30 at UTA’s Fort Worth Campus.
Instructors from the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center will lead the course, which will focus on helping organizations prepare for the Texas Environmental Management Standards and develop programs that go beyond simple conformance to the ISO 14001 Standard.
The course includes five one-day seminars held over five months. Participants will learn to develop a performance based plan that addresses compliance, minimizes environmental risk, and impacts and saves resources. A visit will be conducted at each organization’s site to assist participants with plan implementation, and instructors will be available to participants between monthly classes.
The cost is $2,500 per organization and includes up to three participants. Organizations that complete the course successfully and submit a declaration of commitment to the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality will receive a $500 rebate of their registration fee.
